Elahi Group was among the first few to put up a power generation station, tacking cue from Policies of the Government of Pakistan to combat problem of power shortage in the country through private sector power generation investment. In 1990, Genertech Pakistan Ltd (GPL)      a power generation company was launched in joint venture with Nishat Group. GPL has set      up its first power generation & distribution system at Chunian near Lahore. With the present capacity around 27.52MW this power station is meeting total requirement of several mills    since 1994.

GPL has potential and plans to expend at the location of its first power station as well as   several other load centers. GPL intends to capitalize on these huge opportunities, while contributing towards the national objective of eliminating energy shortage, a major hurdle        in the scocio-economic development of the country.
